Today is the day… Just like new music, Jay-Z’s book “Decoded” hit the bookstores today and I can guarantee that it will be a hot seller. Jay teamed up with Dream Hampton, contributing writer for Vibe magazine and first female editor of The Source, to pen this over 300 page memoir. Jay goes into his life, not giving up more than we already know but providing more detail into what he has already told us. We hear from family, friends, and the man himself as he chronicles his musical career from the very beginning. Not only does he talk about his life but he gives us in depth explanation and discussion about his lyrics and creative process. As much as I do not want to contribute to his already gynormous monetary stockpile, I have to say I am interested to hear what he has to say. Check out his “Most Kingz” Book promo video below…
The book has been in the works and rumored to have been completed years before now so it is unclear as to whether details of his marriage, BluePrint 3 and other future projects/collaborations will be included.
Jay Z has been doing very classy literary promo for this project. He’s been on CNN, is slated for Oprah and last night he sat down with the esteemed Dr. Cornel West and Paul Holdengraber at the New York Public Library to discuss the book, his intentions and what we can expect from it. I totally applaud his efforts. I have the video below, it is a very interesting conversation and it will give you some insight to his thoughts and what you can expect from the book.
